Hi there,
I burned a SVCD that was made from an AVI (AC3), frameserved in VDub, converted the sound to MP2, and encoded with TMPGEnc as a standard NTSC Film SVCD + header trick and VCDEasy to make the VCD.
I can swear that the resulting MPG did play OK on the computer (Windows Media Player), but when I try it on the DVD Player, sound was out of sync.
I repeated all the process, and just realized that VCDEasy send a warning about sound being at 48000 Hz instead of 44100, but I don’t know why because sound setting in TMPGEnc is set to 44100.
The questions are:
1.- Why the file is supposed to be at 48000 is TMPGEnc was set to 44100?
2.- Is it possible that the sound frequency is affecting the audio sync, but just in the stand alone DVD player?
Thx

DVD Audio has to be encoded at 48K, but as an SVCD it shouldn't matter. Could be that your standalone DVD player is confused with the header trick, thinking your SVCD is actually a DVD. I'm just kind of guessing here, since I don't use the header trick, but it seems logical.

Thx for the reply.
This is my .... lets say #100 VCD using SVCD + Header trick, but it's the first time I get audio sync problem without any known reason (such as cut/merge with TMPGEnc).
It's the first time that I SEE 48,000 Hz sound and the corresponding warning in VCDEasy, but may be it was usual and I didn't notice it because everything was OK with the movie.
But a VCD with 48 KHz instead of 44.1 KHz doesn't seem to be a problem?
Thx in advance. -
OK, My problem is solved.
In case that someone owns this DVD, it doesn`t support 48 KHz audio, so you have to re sample it to 44.1.
Aditionaly, it doen't like 2,520 kbps video, so I have to use under 2,500 in order to have a decent movie.
Cheers
