    Recently upgraded to win 2k. Since then the system(s) will not recognise .dat files. I can't even copy them to my hard disk. This was not a problem under previous systems win ME and 98. Also is generally much more touchy about playing avi files, often poor quality when they played fine before. Any ideas?

    Upgraded. Did you upgrade overtop a 98 install? It NEVER works, trust me on this, just too many differences between 98/w2k.
