  1. Is it possible to edit a vob menu that is extracted from a dvd? I want to edit a menu to remove a link as well as the text to some special features that I took out of the dvd so it would fit on 1 dvdr disc. I want to remove the text so that when people view the dvd they will not even see an option to access that special feature I removed. If this is possible please tell me what programs I could use and how I could get this done. Thanx.

  2. Since the menus are just image/video files I don't know of any way to just remove the link. But you can open the vts_01_0.vob file (this should be the menus file) in VirtualDub and do a "File-->Save Image Sequence" This will give you all each frame of the menus (I don't know what would happen if the dvd has motion menus, probably just give you a boat load of files). Once you have all the frames you can edit the ones that have the link in any graphics editting program. Then you will have to use a program like dvd-lab to rebuild the original menu structure. This is the only way I know of the remove the link. There may be a way to do it in ifoedit but I'm still trying to figure that program out.

You will need the the modded version of VirtualDub that can load mpeg-2 video and ac3 audio, any graphics program, and dvd-lab

Another thought..haven't tried it yet...you may be able to edit the frame and then re-insert that frame back into the video stream. This way you could just re-burn the original vts_01_0.vob file. Don't know what kind of programs would let you do something like that, but I'm sure they are out there. Good luck. I'm trying to do the samething with a flipper dvd so if you find a better solution, please let me know

  4. no menu edit will only remove the link and not the text. I want to remove the text so people who view my dvd won't even see that there was suppose to be a music video or some other feature that was taken out.

  5. Actually, you can use menuedit to do what you want, but you will need some skill.

Menuedit can substitute one VOB for another, so all you need do is create your VOB without those menu items and swap them. Creating the VOB isn't all that difficult -- there are some instructions on the DVDFab page if you need help.
