  1. What is Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2 doing exactly during the "Audio/Video Multiplexing" stage of creating a DVD? I am giving MF2 compliant MPEG-2's from TMPGENC that are already multiplexed (not elementary streams) and have set up an MF2 disc template to match and I tell it not to convert compliant files. And it does zip right past the "Finalizing content" stage and does no conversion, but then it gets to this multiplexing stage and that is the most time consuming stage now. I am encoding audio to 224 kbps MP2, stereo, 48khz in TMPGENC. The results I get from MF2 are fine, just wondering if I can somehow skip by this stage since my audio stream is already in final form and multiplexed?

  2. It is taking your compliant mpegs and de-multiplexing them to elementary streams, then re-emultiplexing them into .vob file format. I don't know the details but these files are different from mpeg program streams. They contain the audio and video but are structured differntly, hence the need for MF to re-multiplex to create them.

Giving MF elementary streams might even speed it up a little as it won't have to de-multiplex them!

    Hope this helps
