  1. I am dying for a hack for my JVC XV-S300 DVD player. I went to the hack list on this site and found the thread that gives some options.

I have tried the one or two hacks given and have had no luck.

Is there any other way I can play region 2 DVD's? Is that a piece of hardware or something I can buy?

My wife bought me a video from the UK and I cant watch it.

    Any help appreciated.

Go to this website. They sell JVC models that have been made region free so that they can play any DVD disc. They also sell kits so you can do the mod on your existing player although it sounds a bit tricky to me.

    P.S.
I just checked and there is a mod for your model DVD player. The kit is $74.00 if you DIY or $124.00 if you send it to them to do.

For that price you can get a CYBERHOME DVD player (the CH-DVD 500 model) which can be made region free out-of-the-box with a simple remote control hack. Like the JVC the CYBERHOME CH-DVD 500 can do PAL to NTSC conversion. You can order one direct from the CYBERHOME WEBSITE for $79.95
