  1. Ok, well call me cheap but I am looking for a way to combine different episodes of the television series 24 onto multiple DVDs and would rather not just split the DVD up onto 2 dvds.

I have ripped all of the DVDs and this is not my problem. What I could use some help on is the fact that the DVDs are so large, around 8 gig that only 3 of the 4 episodes found per DVD will fit well after a reasonable compession ratio.

Anyhow, there are 6 disks with 13 episodes each. Fitting 3 episodes onto a DVD then compressing that seems to be ok.

    First DVD 1 - 3
    Second DVD 4 - 6
    Third DVD 7 - 9
    Etc.

If someone could please tell me how I could accomplish this I would appreciate it. I am not very familiar with IFOEdit and got lost in all of the options and to be honest am not sure if that can do the trick either.

I am not sure if I really explained this well enough, but I would appreciate any help you could give me.

In conclusion, I am looking for a tool or method in which I can take VOB files from different directories that do not have matching IFO files and combine them into a file structure that will be able to be burned by Nero.

I am not really familiar with this, but is it possible to just drag and drop the VOB files into Nero without the IFO files?

    Thanks Again,

  2. Assuming you can break up the episodes into individual VOBs, one approach would be to use an authoring tool like DVDLab (which can accept the VOBs without demuxing). You can download the full featured 30 day trial version and give it a shot.

  3. I apologize for my lack of knowledge on the subject but what is Demuxing?

And yes, I have broken down the files into seperate VOB files. I used DVD Decrypter to break down the DVD into it's various VOB and IFO files.

    Thanks,
    Justin

  4. Demuxing breaks the VOB down into the audio and video components -- you don't have to have to or want to do this if you have all the episodes in individual VOBs.

Download DVDLab and give it a shot.

I had a similar problem with wanting to make a back-up of a DVD9 that was a double feature. I now use DVD decrypter to rip the whole DVD, then I use TMPGenc DVD Author to create 2 new DVD's each one with its movie and associated extras (no compression needed). TMPGenc DVD Author allows you to author a new DVD by reading the VTS files from DVD Decrypter. The concept works the same with TV episode DVD9s. Just pick and choose what episodes you want, and author a new DVD.
