  1. I have a Sima Copy master. I'm waiting for my DAC-100 to arrive.

Since the DAC has a macrovision killer, using it with the Sima might be overkill.

The Sima also has the macrovision killer but, can I still take advantage of the other options sima brings to the table or would it be a waste?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  2. My understanding is that macrovision is only a problem if you are trying to record the signal with hardware that recognizes macrovision. The DAC does not have a macrovision killer. However, it also doesn't recognize macrovision, so it isn't a problem.

I'm not familiar with the Sima, so I can't comment on using it would provide any benefit.

  3. It's just a box that you feed video through.

Makes perfect copies of any video automatically
Stabilizes video signal for crisp, bright copies
Digital technology - nothing to set or adjust
    Input signal level indicators
Switch to convert any color signal to black and white
    Inputs: Video (Composite & S-Video) and Audio L & R
    Output: Video (Composite & S-Video) and Audio L & R
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  4. I did some reading on macrovision at http://www.repairfaq.org/filipg/LINK/F_MacroVision1.html
and it sounds to me that using your Sima, since you already have one, would be good.
