Here are some links to webpages that I know work, but I constantly get the dns error on.
    http://www.tscv.org/download.htm
    http://www.grisoft.com
    http://www.divx.com
I have tried hitting the refresh, rebooting, none of these seem to work.

  4. Hmm...interesting. I loaded all three of the web links that you posted here without any problems. I use internet access in a college building with a T1 or similar dedicated connection (Tulsa Community College). The DNS server addresses that your computer uses may be giving you problems for only a few websites--like the DNS server(s) will work with www.yahoo.com but won't work with www.grisoft.com for some unknown reason. Do you have internet access at home?...via standard modem or broadband? Do you use internet access at a office building, college building or similar environment? If you have internet access at home then I suggest you call your ISP technical support line.

Also, you could try the ping command (or similar utility) on the website in question:

    Keep trying...

I only have internet access at home with a dial up modem, my internet access comes from a local college here. Hopefully the tech support there can help me out. How would i do a ping command?

  6. You have XP, correct? To ping:

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

at the prompt, type "ping www. (url here)" as seen in the above post. Obviously, substitute the intended url for "(url here)"
