  1. Does anyone know how to convert a DVD-VCD to "normal" VCD or MPEG-1? I've read a bunch of stuff on this site about converting TO DVD-VCD, but couldn't find anything about converting FROM DVD-VCD back.

The reason I want to do this is I have a DVD-VCD that I want to copy for a friend, but his DVD player doesn't support DVD-/+R/RW, just CD-R/W.

Whenever I use SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGEnc like I do for converting DVDs to VCD with store-bought DVDs, it chokes at the DVD2AVI step (I don't see the movie in DVD2AVI, just a green screen). I guess it's because it can't handle MPEG-1s, just MPEG-2s . . .

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. Basicly you "rip" the movie, demux the Audio from the Video, extract it to a WAV format, and re-do the Audio as 44.1khz, and then Encoding it to MP2 again, and Mux it with the Video, and you have a VCD again.
