I tried to burn a dvd using Nero and it said that files needed to be valid vob, ifo, or bup files. How do I convert my movies files to these? Does Nero do it for me?![]()

First tell us what you are trying to do (i.e. back-up a DVD movie). What tools you used to extract or compress your files with. Without some basic information no one can help you. Your post is just to vague. More infor please!

I am taking my movie off my hard drive. It is an avi. file. I dragged the file into the Nero burning rom and clicked on BURN. When I did, the error came up. I did not compress the file or anything because the DVD is 4.7 gigs and has plenty of room.

MelaninX,
If all you want is to back up your AVI file to the DVD-R/W disc, you need to make sure you choose ISO_DVD. This is used to merely backup files on DVD rahter than making a DVD playable movie.
You will not be able to stick this into a standalone player and play the AVI, because it does not conform with the DVD standard. Playing the AVI from the disk with a media player should be no problem though. -
If you're trying to make a DVD with Nero (like you can with (S)VCDs), it won't. You need to author the file first, then you can burn the authored DVD files to a DVD with Nero...
