Hi Guys,
I'm sure this might be a very simple question but I'/ve got a MiniDV and I've edited my home with Win2000, now after encoding it with TPMG Plus I've got an MPEG-2 now I'm not sure how to convert and burn it on the DVD-R ....... and what software I would need. So far I've only been using DVD Decrypter. Any ideas??

Basically, you need to use a DVD Authoring program to take your (hopefully!) DVD compliant mpeg-2 and produce a set of files that can then be burnt to a DVD-r.
There are many authoring programs available with a wide range of features and a similiar range of prices.
Some examples are IfoEdit, freeware, will produce a very basic DVD
DVDlab, $79 I think, powerful, not too difficult to use but probaly not suited to a firts timer, reuires some effort and learning.
Ulead products, DVD movie factory ($50-$75 i think, not sure) easy to use but fairly limited, DVD Workshop ($300 ish) much more poewrful and flexible,
There are many others to chhose from depending on your needs and you wallet.
Hope this helps -
Thanks guys this really help, I guess I just need a couple more software programs

First get a DVD-RW disc because you'll want to be able to play around with out making coasters
See the guides to the left under Author. If all you want to do is put your MPEG on a DVDR (no menus or extras) you can use IFOEdit to do so (freeware). After that I'd recommend either DVD Lab or another authoring program.
Some/most of the higher end programs will only author from elementary streams, so you might have to de-mux your MPEG2 to m2v (video) and mp2 (audio) streams.
I'm not sure about SECAM, but MP2 audio is supported by the PAL DVD standard but NOT the NTSC DVD standard. However, most NTSC DVD players will play mp2 audio. Again I know nothing about SECAM, but if you have audio problems that could be the cause so you might have to convert your audio to ac3.
