  1. I've been using the Red Datawrite 4x for a few weeks and found that they're mostly pretty good, especially at the price. But recently I've had a few discs which haven't worked too well, especially with some of the more sensitive/picky stand-alone players.
I was looking around some retailers for some reasonably priced Riteks (which sound pretty good) and discovered some Yellow Datawrite 4x (yes 4x!) on BigPockets:

    http://www.bigpockets.co.uk/product.php?product=DVR2050-1&main=Blank+DVD-R&session=264...5a04afc3cff4aa

I can't find any info about them anywhere else. They're slightly more expensive (98p vs 78p per disc) than the red-tops so does that mean they're better quality??

If anyone has any experience with these discs or can provide any more info about them I'd be very grateful.

BTW My burner is a Pioneer 105 and (if you haven't worked it out) I'm in the UK.

    Thanks,

  2. Anybody?

Anyway, I've just ordered 50 of said yellows. I'll report back when I've burned and tested a few.

  3. They're the same as the Datawrite Reds and Bulkpaq Orange... only over-priced because people think the Yellows are better for some reason.

If you're gonna spend a quid per disc you might as well go for something better than princo mate.

I had yellow DataWrite 2x and had no problems with them.
They are manufactured by Princo, but the DataWrites appeared to be a bit better than Princo's 2x. Could be because it was another badge?

  5. The original Datawrite Yellows were only 1x. You must have been using a hacked firmware to write them at 2x.

The 'official' Princo 2x discs were the infamous fake TDK discs that used a fake lead-in to trick the writer to using 2x. These were badged as Datawrite Greys and Bulkpaq Greens.
