  1. Help,
I have encoded a movie using Tmpgenc into DVD format.
Then I followed the guide to author using IFOEDIT.
I then burned the movie using nero.

The movie plays perfect on my PC using PowerDVD player.
Yet when I played the same movie in my DVD player the audio does not work. I hear a metallic sound. The video is perferct.

thanks in advance for the help.
My DVD player is a sony DVP-S530D
    Burner Sony DRU-500A
    Tmpgenc 2.513.53.162
    Ifoedit 0.95
    Nero 5.5.10.0

What encoding are you using for the audio? MP2, AC-3, or LPCM (uncompressed)? Some players may have problems with MP2. My Sony DVP-NS325 has problems with MP2 but I haven't looked into it very deeply.

Did you try pressing your audio button to see if there are any other tracks?

  5. Hi jnk76,

excuse my ignorance, but what button are you speaking off ?.

Is this on my DVD player (did not see an audio button there) or is it on the PowerDVD software dvd player.

  6. I ran into a similar problem on my stand alone, Panasonic S35. I have to keep hitting the audio button on the stand alone's remote control and eventual I get sound.

your audio may be at 44.1 sample rate (which plays fine on a pc) - instead of the 48khz sample rate required for dvd .

There may be different sound tracks recorded and I was thinking the easist thing you may have missed is that the dvd defaults to a soundtrack that you may not have included with IFOedit. There should be an audio button on your remote for your dvd player that may allow you to swith soundtracks. You may have to switch in menu because it can be locked out.

I don't know if you are a noob or not so this seemed the best place to start
