  1. First timer newbie here. I ripped a DVD using DVDShrink, then used IMGtool to make an image then used DVDDecryper to burn(but also used Roxio to try again). I was able to play the movie on my PC, but it said it couldn't read the audio even after changing the audio settings. Is this because I chose to keep the DTS soundtrack part instead of the AC3? Also when I started to encode the Video_TS info, it created an Audio_TS folder but I noticed nothing was in it. Does anyone have any explanation, theories, help that they can give me. Thanks.

  2. The AUDIO_TS folder is normally empty it's for AUDIO-DVDs not VIDEO-DVDs. The audio for video DVDs is muxed into the VOB files in the VIDEO_TS folder.

question - what happens if you play the VIDEO_TS folder on your PC with a software DVD player? Is there audio then? Also what verison of DVD Shrink are you using (there have been reports of audio problems with 2.0 and 2.2, I think 2.3 is ok and I KNOW 1.3 is good).

  3. There is no audio when I play the files in the TS folder. I used DVDShrink 2.3

Do you recommend different steps/tools in making my first DVD to DVD?

  4. - you ripped the first trak then you need to change language while de movie is playing

    - your decoder did not decode DTS ?

    - you did not include any audio trak for the movie

    just idea..

  5. Well I re-did the whole process and chose only the AC3 instead of DTS and it works. WOO HOO! Burning the ISO with Roxio worked, but burning with DVDDecryper failed.
Is there a particular program to rip DTS sound?

  6. I believe if you have the AC3 5.1 track first (track 1) and then the DTS 5.1 track (track 2), but chose to leave the AC3 track off it still defaults to AC3 (track 1) on the DVD-R. You would have to manually select the DTS track in your DVD movie player or go to the sound selection in the Movie menu if you did a full copy of the movie.
