I have a NEC_1100A dvd writer and I have been making DVDs for a while with no problems until I bought some Sony DPR47 DVD+R disks at walmart and tried to make a movie but when I put the DVD in my stand alone it is black and white and the screen jumps like it needs tracking. So someone told me that maybe it was the Sony disks so I went and got some Fujifilm DVD+R disk that I know work because I have used them before and made another movie on it adn guess what, the same thing is happening with these disks now. What am I suppost to do keep wasting blank DVD+R. Someone please help I don't know what to do know.

I have the movie Daredevil and I Used Virtual Dub to get the audio and the file info said it was 25fps which is PAL. I then used TMPGEnc(The newest one)to make my movie. I selected DVD PAL and 4 hours later it was done. I checked the movie to make sure everything was fine. Then I used InfoEdit to Author it. Burned it at 2.4 using FujiFilm DVD+R(That has always worked before)that was successful. Then put it in my stand alone DVD player and right away the screen starts flipping\jumping and it is in black and white. I thought I would try it in my computer and it came up perfect in Power DVD by itself. So I am confused I have the newest NERO and TMPGEnc. Is there any bugs I don't know about.

I know that 25 FPS is PAL standard. But remember, software players do not care if the video is PAL or NTSC, they detect the format, and play it. This may may be why your computer can play your video but your set top cannot. Could you try to make a shorter DVD in NTSC and see if it helps?
