  1. I'm trying to create a xvcd, so I can fit a 90min video in an 80min cd-r.
To make the video file smaller, I changed the bitrate to 950kbps and the framerate to 23,96fps (NTSC). As 950/23,96 > 1150/29,97 there shouldn't be any real loss on video quality. The problem is when I try to encode it with TMPGEnc. I always change that option on settings to VCD Non-Standard, but in the end the filesize is the same of a VCD Standard.
The video is in divx, so if I convert it to VCD Standard, the mpeg file size is 872Mb, so it won't fit in an 80min cd-r. Reducing the bitrate and framerate, as a Non-Standard VCD, the filesize should be something around 750Mb, but in the end all I get is a video with 950kbps and filesize=872Mb. =/
    What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried to use the wizard to take care of the other settings?
    Hello.

  3. No, I never let wizard take care of the video settings. I always configure everything by myself because I like to create chapters in all my vcds and my standalone plays vcds in 16:9 NTSC. Since almost all the videos you can download are 1:1 VGA, 4:3 PAL or 4:3 NTSC, I always convert the files before burning. So, I just don't let wizards take care of my stuff. =)

  4. More details:
I encoded audio and video separated... So now I have a 140Mb audio file and a 594Mb video file... 140+594=734Mb...
Then I try to just multiplex it... And the result is... A 871Mb file! =////
I tried Multiplex and Simple Multiplex... Always in VCD Non-Standard...
Can anyone please tell me what the hell is wrong?
    Thanks! Hehehehe
    =)
