First time post , i have a Sony DDU1621 dvd rom drive , most of the latest movies that i have on DVD don't seem to either run well or rip?
The older DVD's seem to rip/run Ok , is it possible that my drive is unable to read the new discs(DVD9) and how do i confirm this.
FYI...........
My PC is a Athlon 1.7 with 256 ram , DMA is enabled of the drive.
I have tried both DVDdecrypter and Smartripper and have updated my APSI driver all without sucess
any help would be appreciated.

Well....I guess the first step is to tell whether the problems are always with the DVD-9's You can tell if it's a 5 or a 9 by putting the disc in, go to My Computer, pick your DVD drive, right click, and choose Properties. If it's under 5 gigs.....then it's a 5.....if it's over.....than a 9.
Couldn't help you after that.....but at least you might be able to tell if it's ALWAYS the DVD-9's.
Good luck!
