I would like to combine two short DVDs (ie: each about 3 min in length) into one DVD with a menu to distinguish between the two. I am OK with the menu side of the process, but what is the best way of combining both DVDs onto one? Do I need to covert them back to AVI, create one larger AVI file and then re-encode back to MPEG2 or is there a much simpler alternative? I assume there will be a quality loss with this method. I’m a newbie, so sorry if this has been dealt with elsewhere.

copy all the vobs from both disks to your hard drive and rename the second dvd vobs as a continuation of the first
example
vob1 from disk 1
vob2 from disk 1
vob3 from disk 2
vob4 from disk 2
then follow the guides on authoring vobs -- i understand dvdlab accepts vobs for authoring soyou may find that the easy way
you would prob want to make a new menu OR
have disk1 menu play first and at end of playing vobs for disk 1 have disk 2 menu play and redirect to the newly named vobs for that disk
anyway there are guides for this on the left an d in the guide section
