Can anyone explain to me (step by step) how to capture with the Huffy codec, using an ATI AIW 7500 capture card. The last time I captured from a VHS tape it was a huge file (30 min of video used up 35 GIGS on my hard drive) This looks like I was capturing uncompressed AVI but I cant seem to change the codec. I read that it should equal about 13 GIGs for 1 hour of video.

The DV codec will give you 13 gigs per hr, aprox. Huffy when downloaded from the tools section and installed according to enclosed instructions will give you a file larger than DV but smaller than uncompressed avi......... harrymj3

Do you have the huffy codec installed, and what are you using to capture ?

Yes I have it installed. I use Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe card with the PVR software that came with the card updated from their site. It works very well but I just ordered a Pinnacle Moviebox DV (firewire) and will hopefully get even better captures. ............ harrymj3

Unfortunately I know nothing about that software, so is huffy not available as one of the compression codecs.
Sorry just realised but my question was aimed at the original poster who could not capture to huffy.
