I know how to make WAV files with DVD2AVI but the files are enourmous because they also contain the video. How can I just extract the highest quality WAV file audio only. I want to make WAV files form the Led Zeppelin DVD.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank You

  2. You want to de-mux the VOB files to generate/rip the ac3. Once you have the ac3 file you can convert to a wav/mp3/etc. Most ripper will do this but in smartripper:

    1) Choose titleset/video of interest
    2) Click on stream processess
    3) Click on enable streaming processes
    4) Click on the audio stream of interest, then click de-mux
    5) CLick run

This will rip the ac3 file to your HD. Then use one of the programs below to convert it (or get an ac3 player):

That IS the .wav file! DVD2AVI saves out the audio seperately from the picture - in fact if you "save project" it will only save a small placeholder for the video. So just load your .vob into DVD2AVI and go "save project" and ignore the .d2v file - what's left is the full, clean wave audio from the vob.

I don't think so. When I save a whole movie the d2v file is less than 1 MB and the wave file is between 1 and 1.5 Gigs. I don't belive that the video portion of the movie is less than 1 MB. I was under the impresion that the d2v file was an instruction file that gave TMPEGenc how to divide the WAV that contained audio and video.

  5. No, the little d2v file is only a placeholder, that's why you must not delete your VOB files until you've finished encoding a VCD/DVD using the DVD2AVI frameserve method. A 1.5 gig wave file would be about 2.5 hours of audio. Is this the length of your DVD?

I'm not sure exactly how long the Led Zeppelin DVD is but it's got a ton of VOB files (about 4 or 5 times as many as an average movie). I will need to just convert them and then figure it out later. The problem is there are multiple program chains for the movie itself. So I cannot just choose rip movie in smart ripper or DVD Decryptor. THe good thing is the sequence doesn't need to be correct. I just want the highest quality WAV files I can get so I can play it on a regular CD player and make Cassettes out of the songs so they will be playable in my car
