Does anyone know what software do proper conversion of .vro file from DVD-RAM discs (created with standalone recorders) to standard DVD-video .vob files?
By "conversion" I mean NO re-encoding of any video or audio, just remuxing and splitting single 4+GB .vro file (they contain already perfect mpeg video and ac3 audio) to standard 1GB .vob files, preserving existing chapter points preferably.

I know I can do it 'manually' in many various ways (i.e. demultiplex .vro with tmpeg, then load .m2v and .ac3 with spruce and create new dvd image - but this will loose original chaptering) and Im hoping for some simplier approach.
I've tried latest tmpeg dvd author 1.10 that supposed to do it, but it doesnt 'import' original chapters, and it is crippled by the filesize limit - it ended authoring the movie about 3/4 thru (original .vro of 4.1GB was ended at 4 vobs: 3 at 1GB each and 4th at about 150MB, thus it was missing the rest of the movie).

    TIA for any help.

  2. What i always do is copy the .vro file to my hard drive and then rename the extension to .mpg

Then just load it into Tmpgenc DVD Author and edit and add chapter points before authoring to burn onto dvd-r. I've never encountered this filesize limit you speak about, i've used many 4.1gig .vro files and the VIDEO_TS folder ends up being little under 4gig, but the whole feature is still intact.
RealaT Bytes, but that's what life is.
