  1. Why does TMPGEnc no convert or recognize the audio (sometimes) when I try to convert an avi file to a svcd mpeg file?

    You should extract your audio to a wav file first and use that as your audio source, you'll have fewer problems that way. Goldwave is good for doing just that.

  4. Yes,its ac3 audio.
    The deal is I actually paid for my version of TMPGEnc and registered it.
    I just assumed after shelling out money for software that it would work a little better at this basic function.

    Well, you need to install an AC3 codec on your sytem and then you'll be fine (look in the Tools section). No, TMPGEnc does not have codecs built-in. You need to install them depending on the type of file that you have. Goldwave will extract AC3 audio to wav.
