When I insert a DVD, I'm asked to set the default region. I pick region 1 and hit "set region" but then it tells me "region manager" is missing, and to reinstall the DVD player application. It then ejects the DVD and doesnt let me do anything with it. I've installed the application many times, so I dont know how to get this region manager. Can someone post this file? It'd need to be set to region 1 if possible.

Thanks! This is like, the last step before i can begin copyin DVDs!

My understanding is that this should only happen ONCE! Right at the install of the drive. I put in a brand new superdrive, it asked me just what yours is saying. I set the region, and never ever have to ever again.

What is this "application" you are installing. Mine was a native OSX message, not an application message.

I have two system folders. For some reason, DVD Player wont open at all on 10.2 OR 10.2.6 ( leave it to apple ) so I had to use 10.1 for my other system. However, i couldnt actually install DVD Player on 10.1. So i was using the app from the applications folder on my 10.2 HD. I updated the 10.1 to 10.1.2 and installed DVD Player and voila!

I swear..heart surgery would've been easier than getting DVD Player to work on my system. At least it's all over now!
