  1. I'm using version 1.0.4.24 of TMPGenc DVD Author and I'm getting the following warning after I select output,

The capacity of the DVD is exceeded.
The estimated size of the DVD folder you are about to create is 4445MB
This exceeds the capacity of a 4.7GB DVD by 4437MB

However the folder does burn fine to DVD-RW with Nero ? Is this just a bug in TMPGenc ?

    Thanks

it could just be a standard issue, meaning that nero is pretty slack when burning stuff it terms of overburning, but a standard dvd burning tool such as ulead probably wont accept it you see....holla back

  3. A. it's a bug.
    B. It's a feature.
    Your choice.

Yes it is a bug that it shows the full size as exceeding the DVD size.

But It may be just a conservative setting that is exceedable for practical purposes. It may be set that way to avoid using the last bit on the ouiter edge which seems to cause problems for some with cheap media.

In other words I authored a dvd that was out to 4484 vs the 4438 DVD Software says is acceptable. However the folder came out to be 4.35Gb in size, Under the DVD Disk Limit so Nero burns it fine & No it isn't overburning. DVD2One creates a 4.36Gb folder that doesn't require overburning either.

So in effect the only real bug is that it shows the wrong amount of oversize.

I am now running my DVDs out to to showing 4484 routinely.

I'm getting ready to buy as my 30 day trial is up tonight . The program just keeps getting better. Now if they'd add more menu choices!

Anybody use the new motion menu feature yet?? Also that may be the reason for the 4438 setting, it may be to leave room for motion menus??

    Cheers
    Roger
