I am complexed. I have the movie that was done in XVID according to the properties. I get a great picture but no sound. What do I need to do to get the sound. I have tried all the codecs that I thought appropriate but still no sound. I would appreciate any help.

  2. Have you tried loading the xvid avi into gspot (available via the tools ection I believe). This will tell you what codecs you need and if they are installed.

It says that the audio codec is not installed. it says wave_format_ac3. Where does a person get that codec. I didnt think there was for that type of format. Thanks for the help.

I had this same problem when I first began to download XVID movies. The sound is in AC3 format. You can get the codec for AC3 from the tools section. To help you out, I've put the link here:

    Matt,

Thanks for the help. I did get the AC3 filter and it works great. I really want to thank you. I was really frustrated. I usually encode with TMPGEnc but I see it must not do xvid. So I used Mainconcept and it works great. Before when I tried encoding with Mainconcept it couldnt find the audio but works now. Again thanks for all the help.
