I've just bought and installed the above drive ( £105 from computer fair ). Have used dvd decrypter to write in iso mode no problem. I just installed prassi primo ( the program I use on my other pc with panasonic dvdram drive ), but it is not recognising the drive as a writer, just as a cdrom drive. I haven't flashed the firmware yet. Why isn't prassi recognising the 105 correctly?
cheers

Thanks for the reply. I thought record now max was exactly the same as primmo?
I've just checked the drive properties in primo, it is listing it as a 105, but still won't let me select it as a writer. Could this be something to do with aspi layer?
cheers

Not the same. But at some point owned by same company (may still be that way too), rumored the two applications may have some overlap, but not the same at all.Originally Posted by kevlar69

ok, installed trial version of recordnow max, same problem, drive is listed but will not allow selection as a writer. Nero allows selection as writer, but only offers standard cdr type projects, ie, cdrom, audio cd, cd copy etc.
anyone know whats going on here?
thanks in advance

update, sussed out nero, never noticed that drop down box before ( cd/dvd ) DOH!!!.
Anyway, the problem is still there with prassi and record now max, yes I can use nero, but I like prassi, and would still like to get that going ( or max, they do look identical! )
any ideas?
cheers

If u go 2 the prassi website u can download an update that will make it recognise the 105. I use the program all the time with my 105

prassi is a more professional type program than nero -- it is still being sold and supported (with duplicators) ... the update is NOT on the prassi web site though (that one is a very old update) .. current updates are on the sonic web site ..
http://support.sonic.com/downloads/engine.asp
thoughj nero NOW seems to have ironed out most of the bugs they had and is certainly suitable for burning if you use the very latest version .. -
by the way -- recordnow max and prassi use exactly the same burning engine ..

Thanks for the info guys, unfortunately that link is dead, at least it is to me. Anywhere else I can get the update?
thanks again

Try this link and scroll down the page until you see Record Now Max,Primo DVD etc.

Very likely you can open RNM close the wizard. On the help drop-box hit check for updates. Let RNM log on Internet and check for update for the Veritas burn engine. RNM will work WAY better than NERO IMHO.
or manually

near bottom of page look for link.
