My first post.
I am wanting to puchase a Hard Disk Recorder (as most of us do). I would like to purchase the Pioneer.....but....there is an issue from all of the releases that I can see. I really want to have the timeslip functionality that Panasonic provides. The Pioneer states that you can record onto the DVD whilst playing from the hard disk or vice versa, but not using the same medium. The Panasonic seems to be able to do this though.
If I have recorded some TV show, I do not really want to keep it once I have watched it.
Does anyone know if the Pioneer will support the Timeslip functionality?
Thanks in advance.

According to the specs listed at (which are the best I can find for now, and hopefully they are correct):

Yes, the Pioneer will simultaneously record and play on DVD-RW discs if they are certified at 2x speed or better.
Another great feature of the Pioneer machines which isn't available on any other brand of standalone is the ability to use the firewire in both directions - in and OUT. -
Thanks for your help piano632.
Hopefully they will expand the functionality to be like the Panasonic's timeslip.
