  1. I have a XVID file that has ac3 audio and I was wondering if anyone knew how to extract the ac3. I need to do this cause I'm converting the video to MPG-2 with TMPGenc and I need the ac3 audio extracted so I can multiplex them for a dvd. Any help is appreciated.

The VDub AC3 mod can extract your audio. Look for it in the Tools section at left.

Looks like they deleted the link. Anyway, load the video into Goldwave, and save it as a wave file, and see if that works.

    It should!

  6. This is a good thread...I've used Goldwave to convert the AC3 to WAV, but I lost that all-important 5.1DD.

Is there a way to convert XVID w/ AC3 to DVD without losing any of the original qualities? I know how to convert the XVID, but the AC3 part is a monkeywork.

Here's an avi to dvd guide: http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/avi2dvdr.htm

Click on the link that says "properly extract it" for handling your AC3 sound.
