ACCU 4x with SONY DRU-500AX?

I saw some report for ACCU 4x with Pionner A05 but no one had report anything for using ACCU 4X with SONY DRU-500A/AX, I am thinking to order some of these if any one with 500ax can post their experience with these will be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Never tried those. I know that on the 500a with 2.0f firmware verbatim & TDK +R 4X work fine.

$189 for 100pc spindle TDK @ Best Buy, $29.99 for 15 pcs Spindle Verbatim @ Best Buy.

Call me strange, But I hate buying online or E-Bay...

I prefer to pay and take with me.

The Only non-brand name media I use is Princo 1X and even those work for me with no freezing or skipping etc. all the way to the end of the disk, IE all that Nero will let me cram on them. Usually 4.36Gb (Microsoft GBs) or 4.35 from TMPGenc DVD program.

Just in case I use the Princos for non-criticsl stuff... hand outs, one time use etc.

accu disc = Princo disc, it is meritline and supermediastore, and also their funky game, don't get fool over it!!

ACCU disks are NOT PRINCO, they are Lead Data, and some of the most reliable and versatile disks out there right now. Not sure what your deal is jomo...every post you have to put a word in for shop4tech...but start supplying some facts with your posts.

agree with Defense, Princo does not equal ACCU, ACCU was made by Lead Data, i had burn a lot of movies with it, some discs i burn have a little problem while playback on stand alone dvd-player, tower the outter edge nearly 5 mins of end of movie would start skipping, some of the disc don't, i had about burn 300 of them only 1 out 10 would do this, anyway, just wondering can any one share their experince witht the new ACCU 4x with SONY DRU-500AX?

You have to use the right firmware (1.g/f/e), but 1x Accus read as 2x on the Sony. Thats great, I use them all the time cause they are also the media of choice for Panasonic dvd recorders, e30 or e50 etc, which don't care at all what speed your media is believe it or not....

I saw 4x Accus too but not worth the extra dough. 2x were $101 for 100 with shipping & tax included. 4x were about another $50.00

Odd thing, is accus now cost MORE than before.
