I'm having problems converting a movie from AVI to MPEG2 (Super VCD). I've done this 5-10 times before with average results, but I'm having terrible problems this time. The original looks great, but the result of the conversion is choppy at best, terrible at worst. As the converted movie plays, the audio-video sync is lost (i.e. dialogue is heard 10-15 seconds after it is said). I'm using TMPGEnc to convert the avi. I've loaded the SuperVCD template and set all options that are outlined in the HOWTO on this web site. I've tried changing various settings to the highest quality possible (i.e. locking bitrate at max/min 2520/2520). Any ideas? I'm at a loss. Is it possible that the original DVD rip was bad even though it looks great? Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
