  1. This is really confusing. I am converting a avi to mpeg2 but the results are worst then the original for some odd reason i dont know wat is going rong the mpeg version of the film is blurry for some reason (sort of blurry) Any one have any ideas of wat is happinin??? Thnx

  2. Please tell us a little about what encoding parameters you used in TMPEnc. Specifcally Video bitrates and whether you have any set any of the options under the Advanced tab.

  3. Well I didnt do anything to it under advanced besides puting it under High Quality(very slow) the bit rate was 55?? something like that i dont know how to check that.....Well that was all need to no anything else???

  5. the AVI file is actually a highly compressed video file. Based on that you are ALWAYS going to have some type of quality loss.

    Since I have to pull out the ole crystal ball to figure this out, you are more than likely trying to upconvert. The avi that you have is probably a frame size comparable to VCD (352x240). In TMPGENC you are trying to ramp up the resolution and possible the bitrate. This is always going to not look the greatest. You can/should always convert your video down and not up, its the polished turd principle.

    The best you can probably hope for is to down convert it to the same if not smaller resolution and bit rate size and MAYBE apply a sharness filter. There IS a guide in the guides section that talks about converting low rez divx (which is avi) to VCD. You might want to read that over a few times as it will help you get the best picture that you can.
