open the file in g-spot (available in tools section to the left). then post the info for the audio and video that it shows you. with that info, we can probably help you.

  3. I have seen this problem before - place your AVI file in a folder on your desktop only and try again.

When I try to open .D2V files that are too deeply buried in folders, TMPGEnc claims not to support them.

Just a suggestion that probably won't work, but still might be worth a try for all the effort involved.

    Good luck!

  4. Here's one for you (my appologies if it sounds too dumb)...but have you made sure it's not an XVid file? It would still say it's an avi...

    status codec is installed
    aspect 560x304

open video file in gold wave and save audio as wav then use in tempenc. or if the file opens fine in vdub then frameserve to tmpgenc.

  7. ahhhh...it IS and XVid then...

Since this is the case, you'll need to find the guide on the right hand side on the special way to set up TMPGenc to read XVIds properly...I had the problem, but after setting everything up, I'm fine.
