Just be aware that the DMR-E80HS does not have a firewire input as reported by some sources. If you want firewire, you need to buy the DMR-E100HS.
The next Toshiba model in the U.S. will unfortunately not be the RD-X3 but the D-R1. It will not have a hard drive, but the good news is it will record on 3 different formats: DVD-R, DVD-RW & DVD-RAM
Now, if Pioneer would just speed it up with their DVR-002H then I'd be happy. Still no news on this model which is supposed to be out sometime this summer.
