  1. Hey Guys,

I know there have been several posts regarding converting main movie PAL DVD to NTSC, but none that I am aware of illustrating the steps on how to convert a PAL DVD Menu to NTSC. If anyone knows of any guides or previously posted posts that touch upon this, replies would be appreciated,

    Thanks

Try this trick. I have successfully ripped and converted sereval UK issued DVDs to play on many different US only/ non firmware upgradable DVD players. after ripping the contents to the HD using Smartripper 2.41, i used IfoEdit .95 to remove the region code restriction and replaced the PAL header with NTSC headers. Them Burn them onto a 4.7gb DVD+R. So far have not ran across a DVD player that will not play them.

Dennis1968 -- If I rip the contents of the DVD to the HDD, conver it from PAL > NTSC, and then use IfoEdit .95 to remove the Region 2 encoding, all I should have to do is change the PAL Header to an NTSC Header and the DVD should play?

Does the menu get changed from PAL > NTSC in this meathod as well? I want to do a 1:1 copy of a Region 2 movie from the UK, but I don't want to wind up getting to the point of re-authoring the Disc and then having it not play because the Menu's don't work, and I don't want to remove the orignal menu's, I'm surprised nobody has a guide for this yet, I know how to convert PAl > NTSC for Video itself, but there's got to be a program that I can usefor the Menu's the way I use TMPGEnc for the Video.
