Just recently started capturing MPEG1 video (for VCD's) using an ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Rage Pro card. A lot of this material is off VHS / SVHS tapes. However I seem to be getting a problem with frames sticking if there is a slight glitch in the tape. Basically the picture will freeze for a few seconds with a loop of 2 frames while the audio continues as normal. It's also noticable that the picture goes darker during these sequencies during capture.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix for it? The problem even manifests itself while watching video through the TV application, so I imagine its to do with the ATI software rather than MPEG capture.

try searching the forums using 'ATI' and 'macrovision', and you will prob find you answer.....

Ah ha, bloody macrovision! This is nuts, all source material is coming from Non-Macro tapes, even captures direct from BBC Television are suffering from the fault. The only reason I bought the card was to get video in and out of the PC, if its not capable of doing this then ATI are breaking the trades descriptions act and could be put out of business.
