Hi Everyone,
I just bought and installed a Buslink DVD+RW/R for the purpose of burning my Powerpoint slideshows with Easy CD Creater (Roxio) and showing it on my DVD player. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to transfer my file from Powerpoint to the DVD. (Hence my name dvdummy).
Here is the question, is there a site, a book and video that can provide me with simple step by step instructions to do this one project? Burning a Powerpoint presentation to DVD?
Thanks for your time, I hope I haven't been a nuisance.

I doubt there's anything like that -- mostly because it can't be done (at least not in the way I believe you are thinking of it).
A Powerpoint Presentation is normally a collection of slides plus transitions (and perhaps other OLE objects such as sound or video). There isn't any way to just "convert" this into a format that a DVD would require.
Your absolute best bet is to export the individual slides (which you can do in PowerPoint) as BMPs and then bring them into a video editing program such as Premiere (I don't know if the free MS MovieMaker has the power to handle this kind of work, but that's another alternative). Then you create your transitions and other effects there. It won't be the same as the PowerPoint show, but it can actually be better (since you'll have more effects at your disposal -- it just won't be automatic to apply them).
Alternately you can use one of the many "screen capture" programs available on the web to try and capture the playback of your PowerPoint show -- you'll then need to convert this (hopefully AVI format) into an MPEG1 or 2 file (hopefully 2) that can be burned onto a DVD. Look at it this way -- if you can get your PP presentation into an AVI, the rest is relatively simple.
The really low tech solution is to just video your monitor screen -- obviously the quality will be lacking, but it will be *really* easy (although without being able to sync your monitor to the camcorder you may have scan difficulties)."Like a knife, he cuts through life, like every day's his last" -- Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang -
