  1. Ok I have been using ritek G03 media for a year. They have all worked on my dvd players at home, but on many other dvd players they dont even load. What is the best media that is the most compatible for standalone and console players when burning with a pioneer 104 under $3? Thanks.

Could be a long shot here, but I know that sometimes certain dvd players require a dvd to be burned in a special way, well special in that if you are just burning a dvd with only VIDEO_TS fodler maybe it will play maybe it wont.

My understanding is to ensure standalone player compability you have to
    1. have both AUDIO_TS (empty if need be) and VIDEO_TS folders in the root of the dvd disk.
    2. DVD name such that its all capitals and uses underscore (_) for spacing between multi worded titles
    example THE_WHOLE_NINE_YARDS

Now im not sure if this holds true or not, but I've burned a lots of dvd's and always use this method. I distruibute lots to my firends and no one has complained that they dont play in thier dvd players

Except a few in the beginning when i was not putting empty AUDIO_TS folders into the disk simply because I didnt know to do such a thing.

    again, maybe a long shot

I use the riteks and nevr have trouble, but as was pointed out, there are a few rules.

Burn them as a DVD UDF/ ISO DVD , 1.02 xbox compatible. BOOK TYPE DVD checked.

There should be a good guide here on this, if not , I will tell you my NERO settings. They never fail and work everywhere.

And yes, you need an AUDIO_TS folder, just an empty folder entry.

First, make sure the files are in a folder called VIDEO_TS.
Create an EMPTY folder called AUDIO_TS

    Open NERO.

    Select for DVD - DVD-ROM UDF/ISO

    No Multisession

    ISO
    ISO LEVEL 2 checked

    ISO 9660 checked

    Under BURN
    Finalize checked
    WRITE Checked
    BOOK TYPE DVD-ROM checked

Now hit write. You should be golden.

When done, SAVE the template. That way all you have to do is change the location of the VIDEO TS and AUDIO TS to burn some other disk and thesettings are always there...Just save it and when you reopen nero, select OPEN and find your saved item. It will say the files are missing (if you have deleted them) and you say okay and drag and drop new ones.

I use the new Nero 5.5.10.28 and use the DVD-Video template. Looks good to me, worked on all players tested. Nice.
