just got my hands on a "prerealese" of nero softwares new plugin for nero burner, (http://www.nero.com/en/mpeg2time.htm) and tested it with a vob file and it works. now you can drag n drop vob's directly to nero and burn it as svcd. but i would like to see a good test of the plugin. what formats can it take and how fast is it compered to other metodes of converting to svcd..

I'm testing the latest beta of the plugin right now(got it from Ahead). I'm using a 1 minute vob dvd sample and will compare it to cce and tmpgenc.

tried with some longer vobs (up to 5 mins) and have some problems.
    1) theres no sound in any of the converted vobs
    2) some of the clips aren't converted in their full length (eg. a 2 min clip only have the first 20 sec)

I dunno if i just have an erly beta or the same beta as you but it seems like some serious bugs ....

belle: i got the same "problems" and it wont work with anamorphics dvds, they will be in wrong aspect ratio. I dont think it is bugs, it just dont support vob conversions just mpg2,avi. Maybe in the future though.

I used an avi source and it worked good in nero. I have made comparison chart here
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/comparison.htm#mpeg2
    will add pictures later.
