I use TMPGEnc Plus to convert movies to VCD. Movies I have done so far sound fine on the PC and my dvd player. However, Two movies I've tried recently are not sounding correct. The sound plays fine on my PC but cuts out and skips on my dvd player. The movies are in .avi format to start with. I have tried using different CD's and re encoding some samples with different sound settings. I've used virtualdub to extract a .wav, but the sound problem still remains.
Other movies I've done are fine and I don't understand why this is happening all of a sudden. Perhaps some sort of error with the codec?
The sound problem effects certain movies, I think it may effect AC3 encoded movies but I'm not sure. I've tried using Goldwave to convert the sound to a wav with correct sample settings e.t.c. I've used seperate audio encoders such as toolame. I've tried the mpeg tools in tmpgenc as well. Not 100% whether I used these correctly though.
So overall this problem seems to be very odd and seems to be effecting only certain movies with certain sound types. I've also looked at cpu settings in tmpgenc and this hasn't worked either so far. My dvd player has played everything else so it must be the .avi sound or something to do with tmpgenc.
My cpu is a Athlon XP 2000+, I've heard that there are settings to do with this cpu that could be causing the problem.
I'll be grateful for all help.
