  1. to all dvd-wizards,

    I have a major problem

    -i have a philips dvd+r(w) 228 burner and a standalone pioneer dv-444
    -firmware 1.51/ forceaspi/windows XP (sp1)
    -used ripprogram's: smartripper, dvddecrypter
-used encode program's: dvd2one, dvdshrink, copydvd95, instant copy
-used burn program's: record now max, copy2dvd, gear pro, nero (tried all kind of settings)
-Used dvd brand: imation, philips, datawrite, platinum (all 2.4 x)

I cannot read a burned dvd
I tried to backup several original dvd's. I ripped and encoded them. After that i burned the movies to my dvd+rw (philips). I watch the movie completely on pc and standalone. No problems so far, everything works. Then i burned the same movie to a dvd+r, but i cannot open or read it. Nothing at all. Not on my pc (tried via explorer--> no files to see!) or on the standalone (pressing play, nothing happend). Problem so far: dvd+rw yes, dvd+r no

    lets continu...

I loaned 3 ripped backup dvd's from my neighbour (just to try). I thought it won't work, but i burned them to a same dvd+r and they worked on my pc and standalone. No problems here

My 100.000 dollar to you is...... why can't i backup and burn my own movie (only on +rw), and can i burn a already ripped backup movie to a dvd+r

I really need all your help.

    greetings,

    david/Netherlands

what program are you using to burn the dvd?
i have not done dvdr+, i do dvdr-,i don, think it will make a difference in the procedure, but this is how i do dvds:

rip the dvd to the hard disc using smart ripper or dycrypter

(if it is smaller than 4.36gb just make a data dvd with prassi, then add the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder, then burn).

if it is bigger than 4.36gb the easiest way is to use dvd2one ver 1.3, make another folder on your hard drive for the reduced size dvd show it were the dvd folder is after ripping, tell it were you want to put it(in the new folder), select the biggest title set, select the audio stream you want, then set it away.after about 20 mins it should be finished, create two more folders calling the VIDEO_TS AND AUDIO_TS, then select all the files and put them in the VIDEO_TS folder.

then use prassi to make a data dvd, right click and add the VIDEO_TS and the AUDIO_TS folder, then just set it away burning.

ive got the programs if you want them.
