Simple question: Does anybody know where I can get the MPEG 2 encoder which comes with DVD Studio Pro? I just want to encode MPEG2s, and I don't want to spend lots of money for DVD Studio. I would buy the codec, but it is not available as a standalone product, so sadly I have to search a warez version of it. It's basically just a plugin you place in the Quicktime Extensions folder in your System Extensions and then you can use the MPEG2 Codec in the export option from Quicktime and Final Cut. Any location besides Hotline where I could get it? Somebody willing to mail it to me?

Sadly, not. QT5 has full MPEG 1 support. MPEG 2 support was planned, but to expensive. They later bought the company "Astarte", and since then, they have their own MPEG 2 codec (I have it now btw.) which they use in iDVD and DVDSP. QT 6 will support MPEG 2 AND MPEG 4
I just can't await it...QT 6 will be great!
