I used the DIVX program you can find in the tools section. I was able to copy a DVD but I was unable to create a VCD from the file. I set the Divx program to create a VCD. I then created 2 volumes using the chapters under the output option. After creating the .mpg file I was able to view the file on the PC. I burned the CD using Easy CD Creator. I am unable to view this CD on my DVD player. But when I create VCD using TMPGEnc after capturing from VCR using Multimedia Center from ATI I have no problems viewing.

Do you know if your standalone supports VCD? Also, is the VCD MPEG that wouldn't play in your standalone VCD compliant (within specification for VCD)? What resolution, bitrate, and MPEG type is it (mpeg1/mpeg2)?

Thanks for the fast response. My dvd player can support VCD. The file was mpg1 1150 bitrate, resolution 352 x 240. I have used this same setting everytime I created VCD's with TMPGEnc.

What about the framerate of the MPEG, and the audio bitrate? Use MPEG Properties or AVI Codec in the TOOLS section to verify your mpeg's properties.
