    I would like to transfer some 8MM film to VHS format.
    I have a JVC Digital Video Camera. Can I simply record while projecting? Is this way not recomended, is there another do it yourself method?

    Are you refering to 8mm film or 8mm video? Other than paying to have a conversion performed or purchasing the device yourself ($$), yes, one could attempt recording the projected image...might be problematic with shutter sync...why not try it and report back with your results and observations?
