  1. hi,

im due put some of my family pictures on a DVD as a slideshow using ulead Movie Factory 2.

I've done a ton of slideshows using normal cd-rs would but if i was putting my slideshow on DVD would i create my slideshows as normal or do i need to change the audio from 44100 to 48000 inorder to be dvd compatible as im planning to insert some backround music (mp3)

Is there anything else that i would need to change.

I can't speak for v2 but for V1 Ulead will encode the audio anyway as DVD will need either PCM or MPEG audio anyway so Ulead will convert to a compliant audio stream for you.

V2 must do the same I assume.

The DVD spec does NOT need to have audio for it to be compliant. Just needs to have video (or stills). Right now I'm doing a series of DVD's for a national client that is dual angle, but with no audio.

My guess is that only the app you're authoring in is requiring the audio. Other apps may not have that problem. 'Course, for you it may not be a problem anyway.

Cornucopia, a slight misunderstanding on what we said, we weren't saying that audio had to be present to be compliant. kas187 was talking about adding MP3 audio therefore Picture show would then have to re-encode the audio to make it DVD compliant.
