  1. I have an XVID Movie 640 X 352 Pixels, Frame Rate = 23/Second, Data Rate = 211 kbps, Video Sample Size = 24 Bit, Video Compression = XVID
    Now I am using TMPGenc - 2.5 - Version # 2.58.44.152 - Core Version - 1.90.140... to convert it to VCD so that I can view it on my DVD player.
    I had to cut this movie slightly by 10 seconds... 30 minutes into the movie because of a viewing glitch. I have successfully encoded the first part up to the glitch but TmpgEnc will not accept the rest.
    I have tried many times to feed the movie back in to TMPGenc ....used the Source Range option to cut out the glitch out and continue. It will encode but all I get is very clear mpeg but NO SOUND & yet in the first part before the slight glitch I have a perfect file with SOUND??? I have also entered the movie file into GSPOT & the following was detected.

    - - - - Warning - - --> Codec driver file (shown below) appears to be MISSING
    ACM Format Tag 0x2000
    ACM Format Name AC3 from AVI XForm
    DSH DirectShow Codec {51653990-57B4-11CF-8EB1-02608C9BABA2}
    REG Driver File C:\WINDOWS\System32\MPGAUDIO.AX

    By the way I have used Goldwave to extract the audio. The movie has a total of 3 small glitches ( wavering/ghostly spots)...all I want to do is cut them out & then finally burn all the parts into 1 movie. Can someone ...PLEASE HELP.... I have run out of ideas.

    Thanks
    MLOR

  2. I would cut the movie in its XVID state then encode it.

    Then check to see what codec you have/need
