ok i have a ATI All In Wonder 7500 and i captured some clips off my Playstation 2, but each clip is HUGE!!!!!! there like 5MB each. i let it slide for awhile thinking that my video editing software (Adobe Premiere 6) would just compress the size to something much more smaller but i'm unsure how to do this and if it will even work.

is there anyway i can decrease the size without having to re-capture all over again, because that would be horrible!!!!

another question i have. is there an easier video editing program thats just as good if not better than premiere and is easier to understand?

    thanks

2 easy-to-use editing programs are Pinnacle Systems Studio 8 and Ulead's VideoStudio 7. They are not as powerful as Premiere, but since you are asking your question in the Newbie section, you may not need all of Premiere's power and might be very happy with one of these 2. You can download a demo of VideoStudio at www.ulead.com. If you want power closer to Premiere, you can try MediaStudioPro at the same address.

As for your file sizes, the editing programs will convert and compress your files when you export your project after editing, depending on the format you chose. You do not need to re-capture, just import the files in the editing software of your choice. Remember when you export that lower resolutions and lower bitrates will give you smaller files at the expense of quality. In VideoStudio, give a try to VCD format and DVD format to get a better understanding. Once you've done that, you'll be in a better position to assess what you want to do and the resulting files sizes from different formats.
