I'm kind of curious to see what everybody else's computer set up looks like.
Post a photo with a description of your goodies...
- Laptop -- generic brand bought from local PC shop
Specs: 1 GHz PIII, 256 MB PC-133 RAM, 20 GB HDD. 24x CD-ROM, 1x Type II PCMCIA, 2x USB1.1, Fast IrDA, parallel port, TV out (S-video), VGA out, 1x PS/2 port, line out, mic in, 56k modem
This is my "workhorse". I have yet to find a reason to fork out more money for a new PC...- Logitech optical mouse
- Combined USB2.0 and IEEE-1394 CardBus adapter
- Yamaha CRW2100IX external firewire CD-RW drive (16x10x40)
- Verbatim DataLife Plus CD-R media (spindle) and Verbatim Pocket CD-R (used to make the Official VCDHelp.com PAL/NTSC Demo VCD
- "Sharpie" pen
- Hewlet Packard PSC 2210 multifunction device (printer, scanner, fax, photocopier) -- I love this device... It contains slots for CompactFlash, MMC/SD, SmartMedia and Memory Stick and can print photos directly from the memory cards (i.e., independent of the PC). Also, once the multifunction is plugged into the PC (via USB), you can use it as a standard multicard reader.
- USB FDD drive (because sometimes you just need to use a floppy -- e.g., transferring files to a work PC).
Regards.

I'll post my area when I bring home our work camera. I'll venture to say that I have the crappiest computer place. If computer hutches were neighborhoods, mine would live in the ghetto.

Hmmmm..... which computer? Maybe the one in the VCR with the Pinnacle bungee inside? Well maybe not, it's not really a computer anymore, just a PVR (and a crappy burned out one at that).
Maybe some pics if I find the time. Need to check and setup a very large printer (with some shipping damage)

Hi
In case you're wondering, I do have a chair but I just moved it out the way so you can the rat's nest of cables under my desk. I only yesterday put a second monitor on it, and it's working nicely. I have been too lazy to label the pictures with numbers, so I can just tell you what's there.
Fairly straightforward - it's a Dell P4 1.5GHz with 512MB RAM and the bog standard DVD drive and CD-RW drive. I have two monitors and an Epson Stylus 760 inkjet. I also have a Sony MZ-N1 NetMD player sitting on top of the PC. Also invested in a semi-decent set of speakers for it.
Just hiding behind the left monitor in the picture, there's a bottle of Talisker 10yr whisky. For after my exams, you see.

Here is a suggestion for some of you... Reclaim some space with a KVM switch?
Yeah I know, you can't look at multiple machines at the same time.
Which brings another suggestion:
Computers with video out, and then a small LCD for a Gamecube or PSone for each of those. They are big enough to see the progress meter, or preview or whatever.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
Well, its not much, so heres a view of my computer workstation.....but since most of the stuff is close together i split it into 3 pics:
A: My 17 inch monitor
B: My record turntable for ripping my record and LP collection and yes i love my record collection still hehe
C: Tape Deck, for ripping stuff from my cassette tapes as well.
D: Professional Panasonic DV Deck
E: Hi8 Deck
F: Sony SVHS Editing Deck
G: Cable Box
H: Cable Modem
I: Playstation 2
J: The Main CPU Workstation
K: Inkjet Printer
My current setup is for video production since everything is bundled together, but sometime this summer I am going to change the setup. And since I live alone I dont have to worry about anyone bothering or changing my setup
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -
My computer. Sorry for the bad quality, but DV Movie cameras usually don't have the still resolution you'd want.
1. 160GB Firewire Drive
2. Apple G4 Cube
3. RCA Cable Modem
4. Labtec Subwoofer
5. Brand New Wire Trashcan
6. Logitech Wireless Keyboard
1. My Comedy Movie Script
2. Logitech USB Optical Mouse
3. Sony Firewire 12x8x32x CD-RW Drive
4. iomega USB Zip 250mb Drive
5. VTech Wireless Phone
6. 45 Vertabim Datalife Plus DVD-R Disks
7. Me & My Girlfriend's Prom Picture
8. Apple 21" Studio Display, Digital of Course
9. Trusty Coaster, for my Mountain Dew or Cheerwine
10. Warcraft III, Baby! -
I finally got a chance to snap a pic.
1. Sony 17" flatscreen.
2. Boston Acoustic speakers. The one under the table is part of the set.
3. My home built rig in a Lian-Li PC-60 aluminuminum case.
4. Paper shredder for all those illegal documents... Actually, I started shredding everything that I throw away, that has any personal information about me. I had my identity stolen once and the clean up was not nice at all. My credit with MBNA is crap to this day, because they are stupid. The "investigator" who works for them tried to get all gestapo on my ass, but I wasn't having it, since I wasn't the person who racked up the debt with them. Every other credit organization cleared me of any responsibility, but not trusty old MBNA. But I ramble.
5. My pile of cdrs, slim cases, and box-o-cables. I also have a scanner buried behind the shredder.
6. Microsoft keyboard with dirty finger grime.
7. Microsoft Optical Intellimouse, also with grime.
8. You can't see it, but that's the window that I ripped out and replaced. The walls are yellow, because this is going to be my son's room when he gets bigger. -
That table looks rather low mrtristan, do you sit on the floor ?
-

Willtgpo, my real dad, told me to make a maximum of 5,806 posts on vcdhelp.com in one lifetime. So I have. -
If you look at my picture Silky you can see an open curtain 8)

Well here are a couple of pictures of my home computer setup. The pictures pretty much sum what I have to use. XP2100+ processor, 512mb ram, 17 inch LG studioworks monitor, desk fan in side of computer etc.
