  1. Hi All n00b here .. I got a problem I can't figure out why my DVD player wont play VCD, but it will play SVCD with no problems. My DVD player is a Samsung DVD-3500.I think the error message I get is, cannot not read disk. Even if I use VCDeasy to convert movie files I still get the same error.
So usually I have to convert them with tempgenc to SVCD NTSC. I have tried different ways with vcdeasy to make a vcd work but it still wont play.
Just doesn't make sense cause most people say that most DVD players play VCD and not all DVD players will play SVCD. It seems that mine only plays SVCD.
Any Suggestions of what the problem is or any other people have had the same problem as me??

    TIA 8)

There is a version of the Apex 1200 DVD player that only plays SVCD's, it seems that they did not want to pay the licencing fees and so disabled VCD compatibility. Your player may be the same.

  3. Your player will not play VCD, but will play SVCD, like zippy said. Check the compatability list.
