  1. anybody help?

downloaded some video files, all play fine in media player but if played in virtualdubm or when i try to encode with tmpgenc, the audio is massively out of sync...

opened with virtualdubmod and it warns "virtualdub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding..."

so it's the VBR thing that's messing things up but what do i do? tried saving to wave and reencoding, nandub, you name it. problem is i would think this was quite a common problem but can find little or no help anywhere, in these forums or net generally?

any kind souls point me in the right direction? apols in advance if it's something simple (i am a newbie!)

I use Goldwave to extract my audio to wav. It handles MP3, AC3, you name it. Here's a guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/160649.php
