Out of interest, I use:
AVI_IO to capture, TMPGEnc and VirtualDub for simple edits/conversions, Premiere for complex edits, titles, transitions, etc. and DVD Lab to author the finished products.
I tried Ulead and was not impressed with their canned approach, also, Sonic is overpriced. I have tried them and settled for what worked for me. Best value and top quality output.
